BROOKSIDE ASSEMBLY OF GOD CHURCH

DANNY & SHERRI HAVE PASTORED BROOKSIDE SINCE 1997.

When we began pastoring Brookside it was called Bethany Chapel Assembly of God. This is what the church looked like prior to our new Fellowship hall and Educational Wing being added.

God is Good, All the Time and we are experiencing his goodness every day.

I come from a long line of preachers.

My Great Grandfather Rev. Jesse Jefferson Ivie (pictured left) was a circuit pastor and pioneered several Assembly of God churches in his lifetime.

He died in the late 1950’s and was known as “The Fasting Preacher of the Ozark’s.”

He was the son of a “Primitive Baptist” Pastor, Rev. Franklin Napoleon Ivie, who was also a ministers child.

My Grandfather Rev. J R Ivie (Right) pioneered the Assembly of God Church in Caledonia MO and pastored A/G churches for nearly 50 years before his death.

My Mother Rev. Carol D. (Ivie) Brown (also pictured right ) is an Ordained Minister with the Assemblies of God and is currently the District Missionette Director for the Southern Missouri District of the Assemblies of God.

I started playing piano for Southern Gospel groups at 13. I played with several groups including … “The Gospel Way Quartet”, “New Creation”, “Sharon & Duane Hardcastle & Redemption”, “Gene Warren & The Glorylanders”, and “Anointed” a group with my Cousin Marty Harrison and his wife Carolyn.

I played music for several years with several groups until finally I decided to quit running from the “call to preach” that God had placed on my life at an Assembly of God youth camp when I had just turned 13 years old. I took a position at “Northwest Assembly of God” as youth pastor and was there for approximately one year. I learned a lot during this first position, a lot about life, love, happiness and heartache. But God opened my eyes to reality and I learned truly volumes during this time.

After my stay at Northwest A/G, I took a position at “Grace Assembly of God” in Florissant, MO with Rev. Tom Hargrove. I stayed there for about 2 years and went to help pioneer the “Eureka Assembly of God” church in Eureka, MO under the supervision of Rev. Dean Heady Jr. Then I worked with the youth in the “Milan First Assembly of God” church in Milan, MO until I went on the road in fulltime evangelism, which is how I came to meet my lovely wife ShAnointed.jpg (10039 bytes)erri.

We All Loved Traveling On The Road!!!

Sherri and I traveled with our kids for 5+ years on the road full time and those times were hard, but they were definitely some of the best times of our life. We stayed very busy, holding some 400+ services a year on average, and traveling literally from coast to coast. We ministered in Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas, Mississippi, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Arkansas, New Mexico, Arizona, and many other states of the union.

We will never forget all the wonderful people we met and each and every one of them are now a part of our lives in one way or another. One day soon, we will all meet again on Heaven’s Golden Shore.

Now we are the Pastors.

Brookside Assembly of God is a beautiful church in Hazelwood MO with a down home presence in the big city. We love our church and our church loves us. We are not a large congregation, but we will not be able to say that for long, because the lord is adding to the church daily. We have been here since March of 1997 and it looks like we are going to be here for many years to come. It’s so good to know that you are where God has ordained for you to be.

Please feel free to visit the church web site at www.brooksideag.com and visit us when you are in the area. We would truly love to worship the Lord together.

We’re Staying Busy.

Since coming off the road we have recorded three new projects, “More Than You’ll Ever Know”, “Their’s Nothing To Hold Me Back Now” and “Piano For A Time Of Prayer”. You can find these new projects along with our earlier projects on the music page of this site (just click the “Music” button at the top of this page). There are MP3’s of all of our songs for you to enjoy while surfing on line.

We are currently working on publishing a book of our songs and recording 2 more projects. So please be looking for these new items to be available really soon.

Thank You & God Bless You In All Your Ways That Acknowledge Him.
